Die Flagge Österreichs ist eine der ältesten Nationalflaggen der Welt.

RICHTIG. Basierend auf den Quellen wurde sie erstmals im Jahre 1230 verwendet und stammt sie von den Babenbergern (von den 10.-13. Jahrhunderten). Der Legende nach übernahm Babenberger Herzog Leopold V. die Kombination von rot-weiß-rot als Grundlage für die österreichische Flagge, nachdem er eine heftige Schlacht überstanden hatte. Die heutige österreichische Flagge ist rot (oben und unten) und weiß mit dem österreichischen Wappen in der Mitte.

TRUE. Based on some sources it was first used in 1230 and is originated from the Babenberg dynasty (10-13th century). According to legend, Duke Leopold V of Austria adopted the combination of red-white-red as the basis of the Austrian flag after he managed to survive a fierce battle. The present-day Austrian flag is red (top and bottom) and white with the Coat of arms of Austria at its centre.
