The incinerator of Vienna

One of Hunderwasser's masterpieces (die Meisterwerke) is actually an incinerator (die Müllverbrennungsanlage) in Vienna (Wien)

It is called the Spittelau incinerator which was originally built (gebaut) in 1960, but was completed only by the early 1990s due to a fire outbreak (der Feuerausbruch) happened in 1987.

The incinerator with its design (das Design) typical for Hundertwasser's style (der Stil) including the multicoloured columns (die Säulen)curves (die Kurven), a huge golden ball (die goldfarbige Kugel) on its chimney (der Schlot) and other coloured shapes (die Formen) became one of Vienna's most striking landmarks (die Landzeichen)

From economic (wirtschaftlich) point of view Spittelau, being one of Vienna's waste incinerators produces (produziert) energy (die Energie) for around 50,000 Viennese households (die Haushalte) (and heating and warm water for 60,000).
